s.Care Tips for Dypsis Lutescens

*1. Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light.Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but avoid harsh afternoon sun, especially indoors.Low light can slow growth and cause yellowing fronds.

*2. Watering:

Keep the Locodiya ball moist, but not soggy.Water when the ball feels dry to the touch — soak the ball in water for 10–15 minutes, then let it drain.Avoid letting it sit in water as roots may rot.

 *3. Humidity:

Thrives in high humidity.Mist the plant or place it near a humidifier if air is dry.Regular misting also keeps fronds healthy and prevents browning.

* 4. Temperature:

Ideal range: 18°C to 27°C (65°F to 80°F).Protect from cold drafts and temps below 10°C (50°F).

 *5. Fertilizer:

Use a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during spring and summer.Avoid over-fertilizing; this can cause salt build-up in the coir ball.

 *6. Pruning:

Trim dead or yellowing fronds at the base to encourage new growth.Clean dust off fronds regularly.

 *7. Repotting/Reshaping:

Every 1–2 years, you might need to rewrap or refresh the Locodiya ball to keep it tidy.If roots outgrow the ball, consider replanting or expanding the ball with new soil and coir.

 *8. Pests:

Watch for spider mites, mealybugs, and scale.Treat infestations with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
