This plant appears to be a type of fern, possibly Microsorum punctatum (Elkhorn Fern) or a variety of Boston Fern (Nephrolepis spp.). It has a lush, tropical appearance with deeply lobed or wavy fronds.
Fern Care Guide:
1. Light:
• Prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
2. Watering:
• Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy.
• Water when the top inch of soil feels slightly dry.
• Use filtered or rainwater if possible to prevent leaf tip browning.
3. Humidity:
• Loves high humidity (50% or more).
• If growing indoors, mist regularly or use a humidifier.
4. Soil:
• Prefers well-draining, rich organic soil (a peat-based or loamy mix works well).
5. Temperature:
• Thrives in warm temperatures (18–30°C or 65–85°F).
• Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C (50°F).
6. Fertilization:
• Feed with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer.
• Avoid excessive fertilizing, which can cause leaf burn.
7. Pruning & Maintenance:
• Remove any yellowing or dead fronds to promote healthy growth.
• Keep dust off the leaves by gently wiping or misting them.
8. Propagation:
• Can be propagated by division or spores (for certain fern varieties).
• The easiest method is to divide the root clump when repotting.
Common Problems & Solutions:
• Brown leaf tips? → Increase humidity and check water quality.
• Yellowing leaves? → Could be overwatering or poor drainage.
• Drooping fronds? → Check if the soil is too dry or too soggy.
