Ferns are elegant, lush, and mostly shade-loving plants that add a touch of greenery both indoors and outdoors. They’ve been around for millions of years and are known for their feathery, delicate fronds and air-purifying qualities.
Fern Plant Care Tips:
*1. Light:
Ferns love indirect, filtered light.Avoid harsh direct sun as it can scorch the fronds.Ideal for spots with dappled light or partial shade.
*2. Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Most ferns hate drying out—water when the top inch of soil feels dry.In dry indoor environments, mist the leaves regularly or use a humidity tray.
*3. Humidity:
High humidity is a must—ferns thrive in 50%+ humidity.Bathrooms and kitchens are great indoor spots. For dry areas, use a humidifier or pebble tray.
*4. Soil:
Use a light, well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. You can mix peat moss, coco peat, and perlite for a good fern soil.
*5. Fertilizing:
Feed monthly during the growing season (spring to early fall) with diluted liquid fertilizer (half strength).Avoid over-fertilizing—too much can burn the roots and fronds.
*6. Pruning & Grooming:
Trim brown or dead fronds regularly to encourage healthy growth.Gently wipe or mist to keep leaves dust-free if indoors.
*7. Potting & Repotting:
Repot every 1–2 years, especially when roots outgrow the pot.
Choose pots with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
