is a beautiful, symmetrical evergreen conifer known for its soft, feathery needles and naturally tiered branches.
Care Tips:
*1. Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal indoors. Can handle some direct morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon rays.Outdoors, it loves full sun in mild coastal climates.
*2. Watering
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.Keep the soil evenly moist, but not soggy. In winter, reduce watering as growth slows.
*3. Humidity
Prefers high humidity. If indoor air is dry, mist regularly or place near a humidifier.Brown tips often indicate low humidity.
*4. Temperature
Ideal indoor temp: 60–75°F (16–24°C).Avoid temps below 40°F (4°C).Keep away from cold drafts, heat vents, or dry air sources.
*5. Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix—a cactus or succulent mix with some peat is a good choice.
*6. Fertilizing
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring–summer).Hold off on feeding in winter.
*7. Repotting
Repot every 2–3 years or when it outgrows its pot.Choose a container that allows for good drainage.
*8. Pruning
Pruning is rarely needed. Do not cut the top—it stops vertical growth.Remove only brown or dead branches from the base.
Bonus Tip:
It looks like a pine, but it's not cold hardy. Treat it like a tropical houseplant indoors, and bring it outside only in warm weather.
